Hear Me Out, Decreasing the Numbers to Increase Numbers: How Lowering Tuition Costs will Increase Retention Rate

At the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College there is a unique financial situation pertaining to the cost of tuition. The first two years in attendance the cost of tuition is comparable to a community college and it very cost efficient. When a student reaches junior class standing their tuition will increase comparable to a private university. While there are many reasons a student may choose not to continue their education at Rio I believe that the cost increase is the reason that students choose not to attend their last two years. My research is centered around  why the University of Rio Grande should lower the cost of tuition the last two years in order to increase the retention rate  as well as what measures need to be taken to carry that out in order to be beneficial for the educational institution.
