As most of you probably know by now, many of our member institutions, including our hosts for MEHA 2020, have cancelled face-to-face classes and stopped all official travel due to COVID-19.
We have no choice at this point but to cancel our upcoming conference, scheduled for March 27-29, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
However, we would still like to invite you to participate in a virtual conference, in the spirit of Renewal, as an experiment in adaptability. Plans are currently in motion to allow posters and presentations to move forward via our website, mideasthonors.org. More information and specific instructions will be forthcoming on Monday, March 16.
All registrations for the physical conference will be refunded. If you booked a room at the City Flats hotel, you can cancel, without penalty, up to 48 hours before your reservation. We have spoken to the City Flats staff and they are expecting cancellations to come through in the next few days. Please contact your hotel, if you made alternate arrangements, to discuss if your reservation is refundable.
If your institution has been actively collecting travel-sized toiletries for the Service Challenge, we encourage you to follow through with delivering them to a local shelter. We would be delighted if you shared your experience on your social media channels with the hashtag, #MEHA2020.
Any additional questions or concerns can be addressed at (231) 591-2216 or honors@mideasthonors.org.
Stay well, and we look forward to seeing you virtually!
