Proposal Types:

‘Utopia’ does not, technically, mean ‘Good place.’ That word is ‘Eutopia.’  The original meaning of ‘Utopia’ is ‘no-place,’ an imaginary world that does not exist in reality.

As we exist in this pandemic-mandated and technologically-mediated isolation, we meet and confer nowhere.

Cyberspace is not a literal space. It is just one of the many spatial metaphors we use to describe conversation and disagreement.  One ‘takes a position’, we ‘open a space for discussion’, and we ‘back off’ positions that are no longer attractive.

MEHA 2021 embraces this strange new utopia. We will meet in a virtual space called ‘Gather.town,’ which has rooms, parks and open spaces for presentation, exploration and discussion.

MEHA 2020 Schedule of Events

MEHA 2021 Virtual conference will be held March 25th-March 27th.

While we will be virtual, presentations and posters will be delivered in a traditional way. Posters should be single-page, screen-filling PDF files. Presentations will be made live to a group, and workshops can even have breakouts and small group tasks.

Conference Location

Due to the ongoing pandemic, and travel restrictions that result, MEHA2021 will be held entirely online.

We will be hosting the conference in gather.town. Our space is still under construction, so you can’t visit it yet, but watch this page for updates,
