assignment_ind Gilles, R., Foreback, M., Griesmaier, I., Shadab, K. & Wise, N. “ Expanding the Honors Cohort Through an Events-Based Course with TAs ”During our recent curriculum revision process, our students called for a more robust second-year cohort experience, so we created an events- and discussion-based second-year course, capped at 40 to maximize personal contact with peers. We also included 8 upper-division teaching assistants per section. The TAs attend campus and community events with the enrolled students, create follow-up discussion questions, lead small- and large-group discussions, and read and respond to student reflections. Our panel of faculty and TAs will discuss our first full semester experience with the new course.
